Eather for Windows

The desktop app is the only version that can open any folder on your computer — including the ones a browser refuses to touch.

Windows will probably warn you. Here is why, honestly.

Eather is not signed with a code-signing certificate. Those cost a few hundred dollars a year, and until one is bought, Windows treats every new program from a small developer as suspicious — not because it found anything, but because it has never seen the file before and nobody has paid to vouch for it.

You may see any of these:

  1. Chrome: “not commonly downloaded” — keep, then Download anyway.
  2. SmartScreen: “Windows protected your PC” — click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Defender: “Virus detected”. This is a heuristic guess about a file it has not seen before, and it has been reported to Microsoft as a false positive. If you would rather not argue with it, use Eather in your browser instead — everything except opening your own folders works exactly the same.

Do not take that on trust. Check it yourself:

Eather will never ask you to turn off your antivirus. Anything that does, should not be trusted.
